One of the narrators in my oral history book about Cuban exiles, Julieta Valls of Miami, just sent me a copy of a Tweet about my book from her daughter, Ambassador Julieta Valls Noyes, a career foreign service officer who has been nominated by President Biden to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration. I am so pleased that she’s reading my book. Unfortunately, Ambassador Noyes’ nomination is being blocked in the Senate by Florida Sen. Rick Scott.
