I recently posted an item about the daughter of one of the narrators in my oral history book about Cuban exiles, Ambassador Julieta Valls Noyes, a career foreign service officer who was nominated by President Biden as Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration. Her nomination was held up in the Senate for months, but a few days after my post she was confirmed on a voice vote. Here she is taking the oath of office. Congratulations to Ambassador Noyes and her mother, Julieta Valls, who tells her story in my book, “Ninety Miles and a Lifetime Away.” #oralhistory #patriayvida
