I’m so pleased to be doing an encore presentation of my four-hour course about Cuban exiles, “Early Cuban Exiles: Memories of Loss, Struggle, and Rebirth,” for FSU’s OLLI life-long learning program. I did the course right after the 2022 publication of my oral history book about the 600,000 Cuban exiles who came to the US from 1959 to 1973. Much has happened since the book came out, so I’ve updated the course materials to reflect the 450,000 Cuban migrants who came to the US in 2022 and 2023, and I’ve added lots of new images for this visual presentation. The course will be held at Red Hills Village Retirement Resort in Tallahassee, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Monday, June 10 and Monday, June 17.
