I’m looking forward to the next promotional event for my oral history book about Cuban exiles, “Ninety Miles and a Lifetime Away: Memories of Early Cuban Exiles.” It’s a joint appearance with my narrator Mario Cartaya at the Matheson History Museum in Gainesville at 7 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 20. We’ll have a conversation about my book and Mario’s book about his 2016 trip to Cuba as a returning exile, “Journey Back into the Vault.” The event is free and open to the public.
