I enjoyed our panel discussion about transnational displacements at the Oral History Association annual meeting in Los Angeles. My part of the session was a presentation about my oral history book about Cuban refugees, “Ninety Miles and a Lifetime Away: Memories of Early Cuban Exiles,” which tells the story of the Cubans who came to this country between 1959 and 1973 and thus started a diaspora that continues in our time.
